In the Western Highlands of Guatemala - clouds skim the surface of mountains leaving behind lush green lands, fresh water and a village named P'al.

For 36 years villagers of this region have been at the heart of
civil wars. 200 000 civilians were killed, tortured, or disappeared resulting in one of the worst genocides in history. Without any other option; families fled their homes to find safety in the mountains and form new communities such as P’al.

In December 1996, government and guerrillas of Guatemala signed a peace agreement, now 20 years later many things are the same. Emotional trauma, land displacement, and fragmented families are yet to be helped.
